Related to other motorcycle centric iconic vestments here the imagery is of the classic biker regalia, the kidney-belt. This “armor” once cinched tightly is for those long rides toward the horizon which may never be reached. Often with modifications worn as a corset by the girls on the back of the bike.
For me it is also the play on words for accomplishing the rather daunting task of painting the woven leather, not quite a “cinch” to draw and paint.
